TUPELO, MS: Summer is over, the kids are back in school, but the Natchez Trace Parkway is still a great place to have a little weekend fun. The Parkway is pleased to announce that the summer Read with a Ranger program will continue throughout the year. Read with a Ranger is a 45-minute program that is most appropriate for ages six and under, but all ages are welcome. Visitors can listen to a story, participate in a fun activity, and go on an optional quarter-mile hike. The program features a different story on the second Saturday of the month whenever possible.
The Parkway Visitor Center has programs on most Saturdays throughout the year. Bring the whole family to see the North Mississippi Dulcimer Association play music, participate in Junior Ranger programs, and see the Tombigbee Pioneer Group demonstrate crafts and skills from the early 1800s.
