The Old Courthouse Museum offers a fascinating visit to the past and a resource for genealogical research. The historic two-story brick courthouse remains much as it was in 1889. The downstairs area offers a large collection of original courthouse documents, a museum, a genealogical library, and a souvenir and gift shop. The souvenir and gift shop specializes in inexpensive gift items, Christian supplies, home decor, pictures, hand thrown pottery, candles, silver & fashion jewelry, Indian artifacts, Civil War items, and souvenirs. Civil War and Indian exhibits are located on the first floor. Upstairs rooms showcase a turn-of-the-century general store, medical and dental practices, a one room church and school room, the courtroom, and a typical homeplace of the time. Special events are held during the year.
