Tupelo, MS – The Natchez Trace Parkway reopened to traffic between US Highway 82 and MS Highway 15 on Tuesday, August 23, 2011. (Parkway Mileposts 204.3 – 214.5)
On April 27, 2011, this area of the Parkway sustained significant damage from tornados generated by the outbreak of severe weather. As a result of the storm, this section of the Parkway had been closed to allow cleanup crews to remove debris.
Roadside cleanup operations continue just north of MS Highway 15 at milepost 228, and visitors are advised to still exercise caution when traveling in the area.
