The Tombigbee Pioneer Group will perform living history demonstrations that show the challenges faced and creative solutions developed by those Americans who lived in the area from the 1700s to 1840. The demonstrations will take place at the Natchez Trace Parkway Visitor Center (located at milepost 266 near Tupelo, Mississippi) from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2012.

Natchez Trace Parkway Lowers Speed Limit In Sensitive Amphibian Habitat

JACKSON, MS – The National Park Service (NPS), Natchez Trace Parkway, announces a 35- mph speed zone on a two-mile section south of Interstate 20 in Hinds County, Mississippi. The NPS is working with the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, United States Geological Survey, Millsaps College, and Mississippi College monitoring amphibian species.

Natchez Trace Parkway Reopens 8-Mile Section, South of Ridgeland, MS

RIDGELAND, MS – The National Park Service has completed repairs to a damaged section of the Natchez Trace Parkway at milepost 94.9, south of Ridgeland, MS, and will reopen the Parkway to vehicular traffic on Tuesday, November 13, 2012.
