Natchez Trace Parkway Announces Free Junior Ranger Programs, near Tupelo, MS July 2012

The Natchez Trace Parkway will continue Junior Ranger programs at the Natchez Trace Parkway Visitor Center through July, 2012. The programs will be conducted Saturday morning beginning at 10:00 am and will cover natural and cultural history topics that are related to the Natchez Trace Parkway.

(TUPELO, MS)– The Natchez Trace Parkway will continue Junior Ranger programs at the Natchez Trace Parkway Visitor Center through July, 2012.  The programs will be conducted Saturday morning beginning at 10:00 am and will cover natural and cultural history topics that are related to the Natchez Trace Parkway. Parkway programs are free to the public and are most appropriate for children ages 7-12.

“Picture This” Release your inner artist as you explore the Park and learn some basics of photography.  Junior Rangers may bring their own camera, or one may be available to use or share.

“History’s Mysteries” Use your detective skills to uncover the story behind artifacts of the Natchez Trace.

“Mammal Masquerade” Unmask the mysteries of mammals on the Natchez Trace Parkway and make your own animal mask to take home.

“The Beak Knows Best” Use your “beak” and pick up different types of food as you learn about birds on the Natchez Trace Parkway.
