The Natchez Trace Parkway will continue Junior Ranger programs at the
Natchez Trace Parkway Visitor Center through the month of July. The
programs will be conducted Saturday mornings beginning at 10:00 a.m. and
will cover natural and cultural history topics that are related to the
Natchez Trace Parkway. Parkway programs are free to the public and are most
appropriate for children ages 7-12. Junior Ranger Programs for July are as

July 2, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. -“Nature Bingo” Grab a “Nature Bingo” card and head into the woods. Junior Rangers will have to look closely at the plants and trees to get a bingo!
July 9, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. – “Picture This?” Release your inner artist as you explore the Park and learn some basics of photography. Junior Rangers can bring their own
camera or one may be available to use or share.
July 16, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. – “Nature Trail Detectives” Explore a nature trail and practice the skills necessary to become a Nature Trail Detective.
July 23, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. – “Wildland Fire!” Find out what it’s like to be a wildland firefighter. Use the tools and equipment and practice your fire fighting skills.
July 30, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. – “Disappearing Act” Join a Park Ranger to learn all about animal camouflage through hands-on activities.
