TUPELO, MS – Children and their families are welcome to come enjoy the Read with a Ranger program at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at the Natchez Trace Parkway Visitor Center. This month’s featured story is “Brave Little Raccoon.” Follow Little Raccoon and encounter different animals as she tries to find her way home in the dark. Though the ranger will use stuffed animals to help tell the story, afterwards visitors will get to touch real skins and furs of the animals introduced.
Read with a Ranger is a 45-minute program that is most appropriate for ages six and under, but all ages are welcome. Participants will listen to a story, join in a fun activity, and go on an optional and easy quarter-mile hike. Read with a Ranger features a new story on the second Saturday of the month. To confirm the time and program scheduled each month, visit NPS’ website calendar at nps.gov/natr/planyourvisit/calendar.htm
