The perfect getaway for nature and outdoor-lovers.
One of the more popular things to love about the Natchez Trace are the endless opportunities for outdoor fun, and that includes camping.
There are more than a dozen campgrounds along the Natchez Trace Parkway corridor, three in the park itself, and many others just outside the park. The three primitive Parkway campgrounds are free and available on a first come, first serve basis. Camping here is basic. There’s no electricity, showers, or dump stations on site. They’re spread out along the Parkway:
- Rocky Springs (Milepost 54.8)
- Jeff Busby (Milepost 193.1)
- Meriwether Lewis (Milepost 385.9)
If you’re looking for a few more amenities, that’s alright, too! You can find plenty of alternate campgrounds situated just off this 444-mile scenic byway. Many of these offer those niceties like electricity, showers, and dump stations. Check out NPS’ full campground list.
Finally, cyclists who plan to ride the Trace may be interested in bicycle-only campgrounds. By using the peaceful bicycle-only campgrounds, you can plan your trip to ride between 30 and 60 miles each day. Learn more about cycling this 444-mile scenic parkway.
For those who also love fishing, see some of the spots to fish on or near the Parkway.
