Tupelo, MS: The Natchez Trace Parkway has closed the Parkway motor road between milepost 146.0 at Mississippi Highway 429 near Kosciusko, Mississippi, and the Southern Terminus at Liberty Road in Natchez, Mississippi, Milepost 0. This closure is effective immediately and is necessary due to several downed trees in the area and the possibility of continued heavy rains and winds for the storm “Isaac.” The duration of the closure is undetermined at this time, but the Parkway will work to reopen this closed area as soon as possible.
We will keep the public informed of any other closures and detours through further advisories as needed.
